The history of the Hotel began in 1956, when Giuseppe Cipriani (the inventor of the Bellini cocktail) decided to build a hotel for jet-setting travellers. His dream was to create a "paradise" close to Piazza San Marco, yet away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
